An impressive career can conceal many a sad story beneath. Lolo Jones, who won the USA and World Olympic Games for the hurdle in 2013, achieved this feat with a lot of determination and persistence. A single mother with five kids, Jones had a difficult and impoverished childhood. Her mother was constantly in motion and even lived in a basement church for some period of time. Jones lived a nomadic existence that forced her to change schools each year, until she reached the age of high school. Lesley Brandt and her family moved to Auckland, New Zealand in the year 1999. In Auckland she began working as a retailer, only to be promoted to IT manager consultant. Lesley began her career as a commercial model after a variety of modelling jobs. She graduated with a major in acting in the year 2008. In 2009, she furthered her formal training with the Meisner approach to study. Lesley Brandt's debut notable actor role was on the TV drama Diplomatic Immunity, which aired in New Zealand. Lesley Brandt made a guest appearance in New Zealand's TV series Shortland Street with the character of second actor. Then she was in the Sci-Fi drama called This Is Not My Life based on the anecdotal city of Waimoana. Lesley Brandt starred in the television series Spartacus: Blood and Sand as Naevia, a hostage who was later seen in the Spartacus: Gods of the Arena miniseries.
